Licensing Service
How to Apply for an Entertainment License in Thailand
We assist entrepreneurs and business owners in obtaining an Entertainment License in Thailand so their venues can operate legally and efficiently.
Introduction
Thailand has a vibrant hospitality and nightlife industry, but businesses offering entertainment activities must obtain a proper Entertainment License before operating. This license is generally required for establishments such as nightclubs, bars with live music, karaoke venues, discotheques, and restaurants that provide entertainment to customers.
The licensing process is governed primarily by the Entertainment Places Act B.E. 2509 (1966), which regulates entertainment venues to maintain public order, safety, and compliance with local regulations.
UnionSPACE Corporate Services assists entrepreneurs and business owners in navigating the licensing process, ensuring that their entertainment venues operate legally and efficiently in Thailand.
The Scope
Eligibility and business assessment
We assess whether the business falls within the legal definition of an entertainment venue under Thai law and review whether the proposed location is suitable and compliant with zoning requirements.
Location and venue compliance
We review the venue’s compliance with location restrictions, building regulations, fire safety, emergency exits, soundproofing, noise control, CCTV, and other operational requirements before application submission.
Preparing and submitting the application
We assist in preparing the required documentation and submitting the application to the relevant District Office or Municipality, including coordination for further information requests or inspections.
Approval and license issuance
Once approved, the business will receive its Entertainment License. We also guide clients on annual renewal obligations and ongoing operational compliance after issuance.
