Once BOI approve your Visa application, your agent or you will receive a letter as below

Once you receive this letter, it means that BOI has approved your Visa application. It also means that BOI has approved your company or the company sponsoring you to hire you to work in Thailand. This is a very good news and the rest of the steps are merely procedural.
Now you need to exit Thailand and apply for your 3 months Non-B Visa via the evisa portal. You need to go to a country with a Thai Embassy. Nearby countries that proved to be friendly and quick in processing this sort of visa is Jakarta, Vietnam and Laos. DO NOT go to the Thai embassy in China as they will only process you if you have a China Bank Account.
Note: It is important to ensure you do not have any other active Non-B Visa before you start applying for this visa otherwise you willbe rejected. If you have any other active Non-B Visa, you NEED TO CANCEL IT before applying for this new Non-B Visa.
For this article, we will use Jakarta as the case study. What are the steps to apply for your Non-B Visa?
First thing first, you should only submit your online application AFTER you have entered Indonesia (after the indonesia immigration has stamp your passport)
How to apply? Go to https://thaievisa.go.th/ and create an account if you don’t have one. Log into the portal and click on the APPLY FOR NEW VISA button

Then fill up the forms here carefully. This is a dynamic form and may be “slow” to react. Give it some time if you experience your browser hanging after you have selected certain drop down. Here is the correct sample. Replace personal information with you own.

On the next screen, you need to upload your passport and your own photo. Important tip: When your use your phone to take the photo of your passport, make sure your fingers are not seen holding the passport page open otherwise you will neede to resubmit.

After you upload your photo, you may get an error message like below. Ignore it if you feel your photo is alright.

Continue to the form below and complete them accurately and correctly.

Click NEXT to go to the next page. Set the INTENDED DATE OF ARRIVAL about 10 days from the day of your submission. As for the INTENDED DATE OF DEPARTURE, it means when will you be leaving THAILAND. Set it at approximately 60 days as this Non-B Visa will give you 90 days of stay. Don’t worry abou this because once you arrive Thailand, you will need to process your WORK PERMIT and at the same time OBTAIN a new NON-B Visa for 1 year.

You will be asked for FLIGHT NUMBER here. Enter an available flight number here if you do not have your ticket yet. YOU DO NOT NEED TO purchase a ticket yet if you haven’t. Just enter something real. You can obtain flights details from your city to bangkok on many booking app or google.
After you have fill up all the information, click NEXT and you will be directed to the LAST PAGE.
You will see the following and read the following instruction carefully for a smooth application. To avoid rejection / request for more information – which will delay your application. Expect every turn around to be approximately 3 – 4 working days so if you don’t get it right the first time, you might need to wait over the weekend for their next reply.

Document indicating current location > upload your ENTRY STAMP on your Passport. For this case, it will be your JAKARTA ENTRY STAMP. Make sure it is clear and your passport number is visible too so they know this entry stamp is on your passport and not others.

Financial evidence: an amount of no less than 30,000 THB (Single), 120,000 THB (Multiple) (e.g., bank statements for the last three months, sponsor letter) >> Upload your Bank Statement here. 5 . Letter from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) >>This is where you upload the BOI Visa Preapproval letter. Sample: as below
IMPORTANT!!! To avoid delay / request for more information by the embassy, attach the following documents as well here.
- THE BOI COMPANY ADVIDAVIT
- INVITATION LETTER FROM THE BOI COMPANY TO YOU SIGNED BY THE AUTHORISED SIGNATORY
- THE ID CARD OR PASSPORT OF THE BOI COMPANY SIGNATORY
Although this step is not stated on the online form, from our experience, it is best to provide this at this time to facilitate a one time submission / approval.

After you have submitted all your documents, the usual wait time is approximately 3 – 4 working days. Check the https://thaievisa.go.th/ eVisa portal everyday and once you see it is approved, you can now fly into Thailand.

You will receive this in your email. Print it out and bring it with you when you enter Thailand. Provide this with your passport at Thailand Immigration (passport check point) .
You will receive a ENTRY VISA STAMP with 3 months validity.

Next step: Inform your BOI Sponsor company that you have entered Thailand. Now they will make an appointment for you to go to BOI ONE STOP SERVICE CENTER. On your appointment day, go there to get your Work Permit and 1 year Non-B Visa.
