With patience, persistence, and the right guidance, it may be possible to cancel an existing Non-B Visa on your own. This step can be extremely important if you find yourself in a situation where a new Non-B Visa application is rejected because you still have an active Non-B Visa in your passport record.
Recently, one of our clients was in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, applying for his BOI-sponsored Non-B Visa, which was the initial three-month visa. His e-Visa application was rejected by the Thai Embassy in Ho Chi Minh because he still had a valid Non-B Visa that had neither expired nor been formally cancelled.
After numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact the Thai Embassy that originally issued the visa, we explored other possible solutions. Through persistence, careful follow-up, and advice from trusted contacts, we were able to help resolve the issue without requiring the client to return in person.
HOW?
We assisted by pursing the matter with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
RESULT:
The client’s existing Non-B Visa was successfully cancelled within 48 hours.
This allowed the Thai Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City to proceed with issuing his new Non-B Visa.
