It does so by provide a series of tax and non-tax incentives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"part2\">BOI investment promotion policies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Investment promotion policies under the BOI are to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Promote investment that helps enhance national competitiveness<\/li><li>Promote activities that are environment-friendly<\/li><li>Promote clusters to create investment concentration in accordance with regional potential and to strengthen value chains<\/li><li>Promote investment in border provinces in Southern Thailand<\/li><li>Promote special economic zones<\/li><li>Promote Thai overseas investment to enhance the competitiveness of Thai businesses in the global economy<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"part3\">Activities eligible for investment promotion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following activities are eligible for BOI promotion in Thailand:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>1. Agriculture and agricultural products<\/strong><\/td><td>Manufacture of biological fertilisers, organic fertiliser, nano-coated organo-chemical fertiliser and bio-pesticides<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Plant or animal breeding (only those that are not eligible for biotechnology activity)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Crop dying and silo facilities<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Animal propagation or animal husbandry<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Slaughtering<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Deep sea fishery<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Grading, packaging and storage of plants, vegetables, fruits or flowers<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of modified starch or starch made from plants that have special properties<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of oil or fat from plants or animals<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of natural extracts or products from natural extracts<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of active ingredients from natural raw materials<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Tanneries or leather finishing<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of natural rubber products (except for rubber bands, rubber balloons and rubber rings)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of products from agricultural by-products or agricultural waste (except for those with uncomplicated production processes, eg drying or dehydration)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of fuel from agricultural products, including agricultural scrap or garbage or waste<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of preservation of food, beverages, food additives or food ingredients using modern technology<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of medical food or food supplements<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Cold storage, or cold storage and cold storage transportation<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Trading centre for agricultural goods<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of animal feed production and animal food ingredients<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of modern agricultural products or services related to modern agriculture<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>2. Mining, ceramics and basic metals<\/strong><\/td><td>Prospecting of minerals<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Potash mining and\/or dressing<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of advanced or nano materials or products produced from advanced or nano materials<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of glass or ceramics products<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of fire-resistant materials or heat insulation<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of gypsum board or gypsum products<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of up-stream steel, eg hot metal, pig iron, sponge iron, Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) and Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of intermediate steel, eg slab, billet and bloom<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of down-stream steel<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Manufacture of steel pipes
